The choice of the viscosity of automobile gear oil has a certain impact on the fuel economy of the automobile. Therefore, at a suitable ambient temperature, low-viscosity multi-stage vehicle gear oil should be used as much as possible to meet the lubrication requirements of the vehicle gearbox, and it can also exert better fuel-saving effects. Especially in northern winter, gear oil with good low-temperature fluidity and suitable for the local ambient temperature should be selected; during overhaul and running-in, the viscosity of vehicle gear oil should not be too high.
When starting in winter is difficult, low-viscosity multi-stage vehicle gear oil should be replaced in time. It is strictly forbidden to bake the rear axle and transmission to avoid serious deterioration of gear oil, such as colloids or carbon deposits.
Replace the gear oil as specified by the car manufacturer. If the vehicle often works under severe conditions, shorten the oil change interval. When changing oil, the old oil should be released after the vehicle is working and when the oil temperature is high, and the gears and gearboxes should be cleaned before adding new oil before adding new oil. Avoid mixing water and impurities.
Automobile gear oil with lower quality cannot be used in vehicles with higher requirements, that is, ordinary vehicle gear oil cannot replace medium and heavy load vehicle gear oil for hyperbolic gears, otherwise it will cause equipment wear and shorten service life. However, higher gear oils can be used in less demanding vehicles. The amount of gear oil refueling should be appropriate. Too much will not only increase the stirring resistance and fuel consumption, but also may cause the gear oil to leak into the hub bearing through the rear axle half shaft seal ring, causing the bearing grease to dilute, resulting in mechanical failure; Poor gear lubrication, high temperature, accelerated gear wear, oil oxidation. The gear oil level should generally be added to the edge of the bottom of the gear box fuel port, and the gear oil tank should always be checked for leaks, and each oil seal and gasket should be intact.
There is also a need to frequently check whether the ventilation holes of the rear axle and the gearbox are unobstructed, and whether the temperature of the gearbox is normal. If any abnormal phenomenon occurs, go to the maintenance station for a comprehensive inspection in time.
