The failure modes of the conveyor chain are mainly the following:
(1) Fatigue failure chain of conveyor chain chain plate Under the repeated action of loose side tension and tight side tension, after a certain number of cycles, the chain plate will suffer fatigue damage. Under normal lubrication conditions, the fatigue strength of the chain plate is the main factor limiting the load carrying capacity of the chain drive.
(2) Impact fatigue of the conveyor chain roller and sleeve The impact of the chain drive is firstly absorbed by the roller and the sleeve. Under repeated impacts, after a certain number of cycles, the roller and the sleeve may be subjected to impact fatigue damage. This type of failure occurs mostly in medium and high speed closed chain drives.
(3) When the glue of the conveyor chain pin and the sleeve is improperly lubricated or the speed is too high, the working surface of the pin shaft and the sleeve may be glued. Gluing defines the limit speed of the chain drive.
(4) The hinge of the conveyor chain hinge wears and the chain link becomes long after wear, which is easy to cause tooth skipping or unchaining. Open drive, poor environmental conditions or poor lubrication seals can easily cause hinge wear, which can drastically reduce the life of the chain.
(5) The overload of the conveyor chain is broken. This kind of breaking often occurs in the transmission of low speed and heavy load.
