What Are The Characteristics Of Helical Cylindrical Gear Transmission?

1. Smooth transmission: When a pair of helical cylindrical gears mesh, because the gear teeth are not parallel to the gear axis, the tooth profile surfaces of the two gears are in contact along a straight line inclined to the axis. In the process of meshing transmission, the contact line of the tooth surface changes from short to long. From long to short, until out of contact. Therefore, the load on the gear teeth gradually increases from small to large and then from large to small, resulting in a relatively stable transmission, less impact, vibration, and noise, which improves the stability of the transmission.

2. High bearing capacity: In the helical gear transmission, due to the inclination of the gear teeth, when one end of the gear teeth enters into meshing, the other end has not yet entered meshing. When one end of the gear teeth is out of meshing, the other end is still meshing. For example, the helical gear transmission with the same end size and width is compared with the spur gear transmission. The helical gear has more tooth pairs engaged in meshing than the spur gear, so the coincidence degree of the helical gear transmission is larger than that of the spur gear. It can make the transmission stable, and can improve the bearing capacity of the gear.
