Bevel Gear Processing Method

1. The milling gears for bevel gear machining are processed by a forming method using a disc-shaped modular milling cutter or a finger milling cutter. The cross-sectional shape of the cutter corresponds to the shape of the bevel gear teeth. This bevel gear processing method has low processing efficiency and processing precision, and is generally used for single-piece small batch production.

2. Generally, the hobbing of the bevel gear is processed by the forming method, and its working principle is equivalent to a pair of helical gear meshing. The prototype of the gear hob is a helical gear with a large helix angle. Due to the small number of teeth, the tooth has a long tooth, and a worm with a small spiral angle is formed around the shaft, and then the slot is The shovel and other treatments become a hob with a good cutting edge and a back angle.

3. Shaving is a common finishing method used in mass production of bevel gears. The working principle is to use the shaving cutter to perform free meshing motion with the machined gear, and the relative slip between the two is used to shave fine chips from the tooth surface, thereby improving the accuracy of the tooth surface. The shaving teeth can also form drum teeth that are used to improve the position of the tooth surface contact area.

4, in addition to hobbing, another commonly used cutting process using the forming method is the gear shaping. When the gear is inserted, the shaper blade and the workpiece correspond to the engagement of a pair of spur gears. The reciprocating motion of the pinion cutter is the main motion of the pinion, and the circular motion made by the pinion knife and the workpiece in a proportional relationship is the feed motion of the pinion.
